The Authentic Audience team together at sunset

Real humans. Seriously.

The easiest thing to sell is the truth. So here’s ours: how we use AI, how we don’t, and why we’re not sitting this one out.

[ Meet the humans ]

Authentic Audience is a female-founded, culture-led performance marketing agency. Every strategy, campaign, and client relationship is led by a real person on our team.

We know your name. We know your numbers. We know the launch you’re nervous about.

No bot is doing that part.

AI is a tool in our kit, like a spreadsheet or a calendar. It handles the busywork so we can spend more time on what you actually hired us for: thinking, creating, and caring about your results.

How we use it*

01

The Angle.

AI helps us research, sort reviews, and pressure-test hooks. A human decides what your dream customer actually feels.

02

The Creative.

We brainstorm with it. We don’t ship it raw. Every ad, email, and landing page is written, designed, and approved by a person. AI images and video stay behind the scenes, as editing tools and placeholders, never in the final product. No AI faces. No AI voices. We’re the creatives. AI just helps us execute.

03

The Media.

AI helps us process the numbers faster. Strategy, budgets, and decisions stay with our team.

04

The Funnel.

Drafts, checklists, QA. The busywork that used to eat our week.

05

The Learning.

We read the data like strategists, not robots. AI just helps us read more of it.

[ The hard lines ]

How we don’t use it.

  • We don’t replace people. No AI stands in for your strategist, media buyer, writer, or designer.
  • We don’t ship unreviewed work.A human approves everything before it reaches you or your audience.
  • We don’t fake people. No AI testimonials. No invented reviews. No made-up customers.
  • We protect your data.
  • We don’t pass it off.If AI played a meaningful role in your creative, we’ll tell you.
[ Why Claude ]

We chose Claude, made by Anthropic, on purpose.

Anthropic is a public benefit corporation that builds with safety and honesty at the center, and it publishes the values its models are trained on. That’s the kind of transparency we try to practice ourselves.

It feels less like a content factory and more like a thoughtful collaborator.

[ We checked the numbers ]

Let’s talk about water.

AI has a footprint. We’re not pretending it doesn’t. But let’s put it in perspective.

0.26 mL

Google reports that a median Gemini text prompt uses about 0.26 milliliters of water. Roughly five drops.

130,000 gal

A typical U.S. golf course uses around 130,000 gallons of water a day for irrigation, by the golf industry’s own estimate. Some put it at 312,000.

One golf course’s daily watering equals well over a billion AI prompts.

Funny how the outrage tends to land on the tools women and small businesses use to compete, while the fairways stay green.

How we keep our use lean:

  • Clear, specific requests. Fewer wasted runs.
  • No content for content’s sake.
  • Systems and templates we reuse instead of starting from scratch.

Why we’re not opting out*

Marketing, tech, and business have long been shaped by men, by big money, and by industries like Big Oil that have never once asked permission to take up space.

AI is being built right now. The people who use it get a say in where it goes.

We don’t think the answer is for women to bow out. AI is here to stay. If we step back, we hand the future to the same rooms that have always held the power.

So we’re showing up. We use AI to give our team leverage, to compete with agencies far bigger than us, and to protect our time for the creative, strategic, deeply human work we love.

That’s not selling out. That’s taking up space.
